He was born in Springfield, January 5, 1936 the son of Herman and Helen (Bliesner) Kobialka. He graduated from Lanphier High School and then earned his engineering degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He served in the United States Army and after his honorable discharge, continued his military service with the United States Army Reserves.
Herb was a project manager with Fiat-Allis Manufacturing in Springfield, retiring after over 25 years of service. He was a faithful member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church LCMS.
Herb was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Margaret Tarr and his brother, Arthur Kobialka.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews; Patricia Tarr of Tucson, AZ, Richard (Joan) Tarr of Kannapolis, NC, Karen (Bill White) Kobialka of Downers Grove, IL, William Kobialka of Oregon, and Robert Kobialka of Wisconsin.
Cremation Rites are accorded by the Bisch Crematory. A graveside service will be held in Oak Ridge Cemetery Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 11:30 am with Rev. Dr. Micheal Strong officiating.
