

Howard J. Wilson, 93, of Springfield, passed away at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016 at St. John's Hospice. Mr. Wilson was born September 11, 1923 in Morrisonville, the son of William and Emma Walch Wilson. He married Genevieve Langen on February 25, 1946 in Raymond. She preceded him in death on October 5, 2016. Howard graduated from Harvel High School and attended Western Illinois University at Macomb. He retired from farming and the livestock business in Montgomery County. He was one of the original members of the Illinois Pork Producers, and a member of Montgomery County Pork Producers and Chrismon Feeders, Inc. He was also member of the Sangamon County Farm Bureau, Elks Club #158, Knights of Columbus, Springfield Motor Boat Club, Eagles Club, and Church of the Little Flower Church. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Temple I. Hough. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon (Lynn) Funderburk of Morrisonville; son, Jim (Linda) Wilson of Springfield; grandchildren, Keith (wife, Stacey) Funderburk of Morrisonville, Kimberly (husband, Caleb) May of Palmer, Evan Wilson (husband, Kevin Morphew) of Chicago, and Paige Wilson of Chicago; great-grandchildren, Reagan and Hayden Funderburk and Payton and Colin May; sister-in-law, Marjorie Brockamp of Morrisonville; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Little Flower Catholic Church, 800 Stevenson Drive, Springfield. Funeral Mass: 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Little Flower Catholic Church, with Rev. Allen Kemme officiating. Burial will follow at St. Raymond Cemetery.
