

Inman Edward Foster, Jr., 88, of Springfield, died at 7:33 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. Inman was born June 5, 1926, the eldest son of Inman E. Foster, Sr. and Leona Beck Foster. He graduated from Feitshans High School and attended Millikin University in Decatur. He also played the bass in the Chuck Wilson Band. He married Dorothy Jean Logan on June 3, 1951. Inman, his father, and his brother, Charles, owned and operated the Carver Printing Trade School and the newspaper called the Illinois Chronicle in Springfield and Bloomington, IL. Inman was in the printing business for more than 50 years. Many of those printing years included his father, brother, and son, Inman E. Foster, III. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Charles, Alvin and Colby; and two sisters, Laura VanBuren and Norma Eberhardt. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Dorothy. They were married for 64 years. He also leaves two sons, Inman E. (wife, Debra) Foster, III of Bloomington and Warren L. (wife, Marcia) Foster of Springfield; three daughters, Charlene and Lisa Foster of Bloomington, and Valencia (husband, Eddie) Anderson of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Mamie Ragland Jones of Memphis, TN and Jacqueline Johnson of Springfield; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 9:00-10:45 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Rodney Hodge officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
