

She was born Sept. 6, 1936 in Loami the daughter of Clarence and Irene South Chandler. She married Edward D. “Ted” Lewis Aug. 12, 1956 and he preceded her in death in 1989. She was also preceded in death by a brother Leroy Chandler and a sister Louise Wheeler.
Marlene grew up in Loami and graduated from New Berlin High School. She was employed for many years at Town and Country Bank. She was a member of Lakeside Christian Church and was a volunteer at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.
She is survived by three daughters, Kim Lewis of Springfield, Sue Lewis of Reidsville, NC and Pam Turpin (husband, Parker) of Reidsville, NC; Sisters, Phyllis Grider of East Alton and Norma Sims of Macomb; brother, Lowell Chandler (wife, Kathleen) of Litchfield; sisters in law, Patricia Hoagland of Frisco, TX and Wilma Hammond of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 5 to 7:00 PM Thursday Feb. 9, 2012 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel. Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday Feb. 10, 2012 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jon Morrissette officiating. Interment will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
