
Jackie Kolaz, 81, of Springfield passed away at 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at her residence. Jackie was born on November 4, 1928 in Pana, the daughter of John J. and Fern White Hay. She married William Edward Kolaz on March 5, 1944 in Springfield. He preceded her in death in 2001. Jackie attended Feitshans High School and worked as a bartender for 30 years. She worked over the years for Ed and Bill’s, Ben’s and Don’s Corner. She loved talking to and helping people. She also enjoyed crocheting and working crossword puzzles. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and James Hay and a sister, Janice Gramlich. She is survived by her son, Anthony William (wife, Joselyn) Kolaz of KY; three daughters, Sandra (husband, Ray) Lancaster and Pamela (husband, Kenny) Fitzgerald, both of Springfield and Donna L. (husband, Tom) Shaddel of Petersburg; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Judith J. (husband, Loren) Curtis and Jennifer J. (husband, Mike) McKinney, both of Springfield. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Illinois, 720 N. Bond St., Springfield, IL 62702.
