

James Michael "Mikey" Hubbard II, 25, of New Berlin, passed away at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. Mikey was born April 7, 1989 in Las Vegas, Nevada, a son of J. Michael and Cheri R. Valdovinos Hubbard. Mikey was a 2006 graduate of New Berlin High School. In his younger years, he got the opportunity to be a legislative page. Mikey won the first MTI welding competition. He was employed as a Pipefitter for the Local #137. He was a strong advocate for organ donation and an avid blood donor. He enjoyed bow hunting, fishing, muddin', welding, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his parents; grandparents, James and Betty Hubbard of Clearwater, FL, Nina (husband, Bob) Anderson of Las Vegas, NV, and Edward Valdovinos (companion, Judy) of Oxnard, CA; two sisters, Ashley (husband, Josh) Baker of New Berlin and Melissa Hubbard (companion, Dustin) of Loami; one brother, Jesse Hubbard (companion, Erika) of New Berlin; one niece, Madison Michelle Hemphill; one nephew, Dakota James Hemphill; fiance, Katelynn Graves of Pleasant Plains; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Berlin Christian Church, 2580 South Wake Road, New Berlin. Funeral ceremony: 12 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Berlin Christian Church with Rev. Warren Brosi officiating. Burial will follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Loami. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
