

James A. "Jim" Killion, 66, of Springfield, died at 11:50 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at St. John's Hospital. Jim was born October 2, 1946 in Springfield, the son of Elmer and Margaret Brents Killion. He married Marilyn Babb on April 16, 1982 in Springfield. Jim attended Springfield High School and proudly served our country in the United States Army. He was a retired union sheet metal worker and enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and University of Illinois Basketball fan. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Elmer Killion, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Killion of Springfield; four children, Lori (husband, Buddy Lash) Killion-Lash, Martha Killion (companion, Josh Mullikin), Kathleen Killion and Matthew Killion, all of Springfield; four grandchildren, Kelsey Killion, Kale Lash, Jed and Stella Mullikin; three siblings, Karen Gamble of Loveland, CO, Gail (wife, Yvonne) Killion, and Becky Burris (companion, Matt Hunsaker), both of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors.
