James Rockhold

James Rockhold, 63, of Whitewright Texas formerly from Pekin, Illinois, passed away Monday, March 5, 2001 at Whitewright Nursing Home. He was born the son of Lyle William and Julia Phillips Rockhold August 24, 1937 in Pekin, Illinois. He married Gloria Ruth Embry May 19, 1960 in Pekin. She preceded him in death February 19, 1996. Mr. Rockhold worked as a police officer for the Veterans Administrative Hospital for 29 1/2 years. He served in Vietnam from December 1965 to December 1966. In 1961 he received Advanced Individual Military Police Training. In 1967 he became a Military and Civil Criminal Investigator. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by three sons: Jim (wife, Fonda) Rockhold of Goffstown, NH, Ron (wife, Evelyn) Rockhold of Anna, TX, Rick Rockhold of Des Moines, IA; one daughter: Cheryl Willis of Riverton; one step-daughter: Cindy Hintz Vance of Riverton; one sister: Sue (husband, Bill) Austin of Mason City; four granddaughters and one grandson. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 12-1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2001. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Scott Brindley officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park where the Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail will perform Honors.
