

James Lee "Jim" Rollins, 46, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at St. John's Hospital. Jim was born on May 3, 1962 in Springfield, the son of Walter B. and Bernice Johnson Rollins. Jim was a veteran of the United States Army achieving the rank of Sergeant. He earned the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal w/ 3Bronze Stars, Overseas Service Ribbon, Drivers Badge, Mechanics Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal and the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon. He worked in the warehouse of H.D. Smith Wholesale Drug Company. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #916 and a lifelong member of H.O.G. Preceding Jim in death are his parents. He is survived by his wife, Nina of Springfield; his son, Kenney of Springfield; his brothers, Michael (wife, Lylia) Rollins of Sullivan, Red Rollins of Springfield, and Lynn Rollins of Dawson; in addition to four nephews, two nieces, and a great niece. Family will receive friends from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday December 14, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Family and friends will meet at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2008 before processing to the cemetery. Graveside Ceremonies will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 15, 2008 at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Pastor Paul McGhghy officiating and the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County and the United States Army providing military honors.
