James Dick Sharp

He was born Sept. 6, 1927 in Benton the son of William Henry and Sylvia Lee Gasaway Bean Sharp.. He married Norma Jean Moore Sept. 7, 1948 in Piggott, AR. And she preceded him in death in 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister Delores Houghland.

He attended Southern Illinois University and Sanford-Brown Business College. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Springfield and was worked as a Heavy Equipment Sales Representative.

He is survived by his son, Jeffrery Sharp (Wife, Mary) of Springfield; daughter, Cathy Blakeslee (husband, Rob) of Portland, OR; sister, Mary Ellen Jones of Mount Vernon and two grandchildren, Josh and Emily Sharp.

Friends may call at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel Monday April 21, 2014 from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Graveside services will be held at noon Wednesday April 23, 2014 in Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton.
