

Jane Lebkuecher Henderson, 87, of Springfield, died at 12:49 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center. Jane was born March 28, 1917 in Beardstown, the daughter of Charles and Lydia Meyer Lebkuecher. She graduated from Beardstown High School A resident of Springfield for over eighty years, she was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and AARP. Jane was a homemaker and had been employed by the State of Illinois for forty-two years, working for the Department of Agriculture, Secretary of State and the State Treasurer’s Office. After retiring from the state she was employed as a dietician at Memorial Medical Center. She loved yardwork, gardening and needlepoint. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and three brothers. She is survived by one son: James “Jim” (wife, Donna) Settles of Springfield; two grandchildren: Brad and Denise Settles; one great grandson: Dalton Settles; two nieces and one nephew and special friend and companion, her pet Brandy Sue. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Olson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Beardstown, with committal services at 1:00 p.m. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the Elks Lodge in Beardstown following the committal. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2477 W. Washington, Springfield, IL 62707.
