Jane King

Dorothy "Jane" King, 83, of Waverly, died at 8:13 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Jane was born October 30, 1933 in Brockway, PA, the daughter of Leroy and Valla P. Strong Shaffer. She married Jack W. King on July 27, 1963 in Shawneetown; he preceded her in death on April 17, 2007. Jane graduated from Brockway High School in 1950 and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Waverly First Baptist Church and then later Church of the Nazarene in Auburn. Jane was primarily a homemaker however also enjoyed her time working at the Waverly Journal and as a visiting nurse. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Jane enjoyed bowling and bowled on several different leagues throughout her years, but the most important thing she loved to do was spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Christopher King; son-in-law, Steven Tebrugge; sister, Rosemary Ryan; and two brothers, Tom and Rick Shaffer. She is survived by her children, Robert King of Waverly, Carla Hood of Summerville, SC, Denise Oliansky of Buffalo, NY, Dean (wife, Vicki) Rolley of Evansville, IN, Randy Rolley of Evansville, IN, Tracey (wife, Lory) King of Waverly, Christina Tebrugge of Springfield, Julie (husband, Ed) Adams of Greenville, NC, and Joshua (wife, Brittani) King of Waverly; stepdaughters, Gloria Kelber and Toni Ann Fisher; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
