

Janice S. Koch, 62, of Springfield, died at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Heritage Health. Janice was born July 31, 1955 in Champaign, the daughter of William and Joan Clements Koch. Janice earned her bachelors degree from DePauw University in 1977 in Greencastle, IN. She worked as an adjudicator through the Department of Human Services with the State of Illinois. Janice was a member of West Side Christian Church, where she volunteered at the caf and at several other events. She was a past member of the SPARC board and Altrusa International of Springfield. Janice enjoyed catering, throwing parties, golfing, knitting, making flower arrangements, and she was a fantastic cook. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother, Rodney (Sharon Nation) Koch of Varna, IL; nieces, Lindsey (husband, Jim), Heather (husband, Chris), Ashley, and Whitney (husband, Chris); her loving dogs, George and Gracie; and numerous friends. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Memorial Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018 at West Side Christian Church, 2850 Cider Mill Ln., Springfield with Bryan Throckmorton officiating.
