

Jay �Big Jay� Privott, Sr., 66, of Springfield went home to be with the Lord on October 25, 2013. He was born on November 12, 1946 in Edinburg to the late Clarence Privott and Velma L. Ralph (Bogart) Privott. His family owned and operated a general store in Edinburg for many years. Jay retired after many years of being a cook in food service industry. Jay is survived by his son, Jay (Terrie) Privott, Jr., of Auburn; grandchildren, Donnie J. Privott of Springfield, Samuel J. Hodits and Seth D Hodits, both of Auburn; great granddaughter, Kaileigh Noel Luttrell of Divernon; brother, Terry (Merdi) Privott of California; sister Sherry Smith of Chatham; and kitty companions Tara and Grace. Jay was known affectionately as �Big Jay� which described his kind heart by the many �grandchildren� he cared for. Cremation rites will be accorded before services at Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham. Memorial services will be held at 11am, on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at New Life Family Church, 303 S. Clover Lane, Auburn with Rev. Larry Griffith officiating. A memorial gathering will follow after the service. Memorial contributions may be made to APL, 1001 Traintor Road, Springfield, IL 62702 from where his Kitties were adopted or New Life Family Church, 303 S. Clover Lane, Auburn 62615, where Jay was an active member and usher.
