Jay was born December 15, 1953, in Quincy, IL, the son of Paul and Mary (Ryan) Lammers.
He graduated from Quincy Senior High School in 1972 and earned his associate degree from Black Hawk College. Jay proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1988 to 2007, retiring with honors. He was a member of the American Legion Post #32. Jay enjoyed drawing, singing, and playing the piano.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jay is survived by his brothers, Steve (Kelly) Lammers of Quincy and Tim Lammers of Atlanta, GA and two nephews, Max and Mitchell Lammers.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
The family is being served by Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 South Grand Avenue West, Springfield, IL.
