

Jean Amrhein, 83, of Springfield, passed away at 3:40 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at St. John's Hospice. Jean was born on December 10, 1928, the daughter of Jean Fredrick and Elizabeth Waters Saner. She married John "Jack" Amrhein on September 18, 1952 at Church of the Little Flower in Springfield. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2003. Jean graduated from St. John's School of Nursing as an RN in 1950 and retired from Memorial Medical Center. She was a member of the Church of the Little Flower, the Saint Theresa Guild, Spoon River Questers, St. Joseph Home Coterie, and a sustaining life member of the Springfield Junior League. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by three sons, Carl Amrhein of Darien, John Amrhein of Tucson, AZ, and Tom Amrhein of Springfield; three daughters, Barb Amrhein of Canyon, TX, Jackie Bales of Peoria, AZ, and Kitsy Amrhein; and three grandchildren, Stacey Bales of Phoenix, AZ, Greg Bales of Peoria, AZ, and John Glenn Amrhein of Phoenix, AZ. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan &Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Stevenson Dr., Springfield with Rev. Msgr. John R.
