Jean Alice Kobylarz

Jean Alice Kobylarz, 58, of Springfield, died at 4:50 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at St. John's Hospice. Jean was born March 19, 1951 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of John James and Alice Ruth Prior Mahoney. She married Robert Joseph "Bob" Kobylarz on August 4, 1973 in Cheshire, CT. Jean graduated from Cheshire High School and attended Wagner College in Long Island, NY. She worked for Michael J.'s Retail Sales. She enjoyed nature and gardening. She loved family and her friends and was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her husband, Bob of Springfield; two sons, Jason (wife, Dara) Kobylarz and John Kobylarz (partner, Michael Hartman), both of Madison, WI; her mother, Alice R. Mahoney of Cheshire, CT; one grandchild, Charlotte Anne Kobylarz; two brothers, Bryon (wife, Helen) Mahoney of Killingworth, CT and Terry Mahoney of Cheshire, CT; a sister, Nancy (husband, Robert) Crighton of Prospect, CT and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family will receive friends from 5:00 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A memorial ceremony will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 687 E. Linton Ave., Springfield, IL 62703.
