Jeffrey L. Lane, 51, of Springfield, died at 11:14 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at his residence. Jeff was born July 13, 1966 in Springfield, the son of George L. and Mary Elaine Walsh Lane. Jeff graduated from Rochester High School in 1984 and attended Lincoln Land Community College. He was employed with the Illinois Department of Revenue for almost 30 years. He enjoyed racing, concerts, and car shows. Jeff especially enjoyed spending time with his son Brandon who was the light of his life. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Oakland Raiders fan. He was preceded in death by his father, George L. Lane and grandparents, Walter and Doris Lane and Michael and Camilla Walsh. He is survived by his son, Brandon Lane of Springfield; mother, Mary Elaine Lane of Springfield; aunts, Dee Winterbauer and Connie (husband, Dale) Bounds; several cousins; and close friend of the family, Theresa Hansen. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Charles Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
