Jennie was born on July 10, 1960, in Springfield, Illinois to Kenneth W. and Lois (Suckow) Davis. She was a graduate of Springfield High School (1978) and DePauw University (1982) where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. Jennie received a Master of Arts in Theatre from Indiana University in 1984.
Sometime in sixth grade, probably in church choir, Jennie met her lifelong best friend, soul mate and eventual husband of 36 years, Eric R. Moy. The couple married in 1984, moved to Indianapolis in 1985, and had twin children, Benjamin Henry Moy and Lyndsay Lillian (Moy) Bernhardt.
In Indianapolis, Jennie devoted years of her life to civic leadership and charitable work. She was an active member or volunteer of numerous civic organizations. Jennie was an officer and board member of Junior League of Indianapolis, St. Margaret’s Hospital Guild and the Presidents’ Round Table. She was an active volunteer and supporter of Indianapolis Children’s Choir. Jennie was a member of First-Meridian Heights Presbyterian Church where she was a deacon, an elder and active volunteer over several decades. In September 2015, Jennie was recognized for her extraordinary contributions to Indianapolis and received the Indianapolis Mayor’s Community Service Award from Mayor Greg Ballard.
Jennie was known for remarkable intelligence and her quick, dry wit. She loved travel, especially in Europe, England, and Scotland. Jennie loved vacations with family in Maine and spending time with friends and family at their home on Heritage Lake in Putnam County. She was devoted to her family, and enjoyed good food, games, euchre and jigsaw puzzles.
Jennie is survived by her husband; her children; her younger brother, Dr. Mark E. Davis of Galesburg, Illinois; three nieces; four nephews; and her beloved border terrier, Tavish. She was preceded in death by her parents and her older sister, Kathleen (Davis) Stittsworth.
