

Jerome "Jerry" Mannen Jackson, Jr., 66, of Springfield, died at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. Jerry was born May 18, 1944 in Springfield, the son of Jerome Mannen and Ada Elizabeth Gruetzemacher Jackson. He married Mae Brown on March 15, 1970 in Petersburg. Jerry worked for Kerasotes Theatres for 14 years, Certified Equipment & Manufacturing for 11 years, American Window Cleaning for 8 years and Maintenance Supply as a supervisor since July, 1992. He was a loving husband, father and grandpa "Popi". He enjoyed bowling and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Travis William Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Mae of Springfield; son, Les (Cheri) Jackson of Chatham; three grandchildren, Paige, Tyler and Ashley Jackson, all of Chatham; two sisters, Judy (Bill) Goodson of Greenville, WI and Jenny (Jim) Baur of Springfield, many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his two companions, dog, Smolli and bird, Cocy. Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
