Jerry Jarvis, 71, of Springfield, passed away at 11:47 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at St. John's ICU. Jerry was born December 25, 1942 in Springfield, the son of Joseph and Helen Ealey Jarvis. He married Andrea French on April 23, 1965 in Springfield. Jerry was a graduate of Lanphier High School and served in the Illinois Army National Guard for 38 years. He enjoyed cars and was especially proud of his 1934 Chevy Coupe that he built on his own. He was known for being a quiet man, who was quite handy, with great mechanical abilities. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Vicky Lindsay. He is survived by his wife, Andrea Jarvis of Springfield; his son, Trevor Jarvis of Loami; his daughter, Edie Jarvis of Ormond Beach, FL; one granddaughter, Ella Jarvis of Ormond Beach, FL; and one sister, Jo Ann (husband, Warren) Crissey of Ft. Myers, FL and several nieces and nephews. Private family ceremonies were held.
