Jerry was born November 25, 1939, in Vienna, IL, the son of Willie and Thelma Penrod Sullivan. He married Deanna Edwards on July 23, 1960, in Springfield, IL.
Jerry was employed as a carpenter and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Throughout his years, Jerry was known for the care he showed in everyday moments, extending kindness without fanfare and offering comfort in ways that made people feel seen and valued.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepdad, Calvin Nunn; grandson, Jesse Mounce; and sister, Linda Nunn.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Deanna of Springfield; son, Shawn (Theresa) Sullivan of Virden, IL; daughter, Mona (Mark) Mounce of Springfield; grandchildren, Stephanie (Josh) Schaffer, Shane Sullivan, Donnie (Tina) Hull, Brandon (Crysta) Olson, and Theresa (Jordan Cox) Olson; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces.
Private burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
