Jim Shores

Jim Shores, 51, of Springfield, died at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at St. John’s Hospice. Jim was born on October 6, 1955 in Springfield, the son of Patsy Painter Shores. He married Maureen Brennan on August 22, 1986 in Springfield. Jim graduated from Lanphier High School and was a U.S. Marine veteran. He later was employed at Memorial Medical Center and in maintenance at SIU School of Medicine. He enjoyed family, friends, and fishing. Jim is survived by his wife, Maureen of Springfield; one son, Brandon Shores of Springfield; mother, Patsy Shores of Springfield; one brother, Albert Shores of Springfield and three sisters: Kimberly R. Shores of Springfield, Cindy Hazzard of Virginia, IL and Patricia (Tim) Flemming of Springfield; several nieces; two nephews; two great nieces; one great nephew and several cousins including Conrad and Tim Carnduff of Springfield. The family welcomes friends to visit from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Ceremonies will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, September 3, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Scott Brindley officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery with the Department of Defense conducting military honors.
