

He was born in Decatur, IL, on June 1, 1933, the son of Carl G. and Mildred Mae (Studebaker) Hill. Jimmie married Alice Coberly on December 12, 1992, in Decatur.
Jimmie graduated from Decatur High School in 1952. He then proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954. Following, he earned his master’s degree from Millikin University in Decatur in 1960 where he studied to be a teacher. Jimmie enjoyed photography and was very creative and artistic. He was a member of the Decatur Gallery 510 Art & Framing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry, Gary, and John Lemont Hill.
Jimmie is survived by his wife, Alice; daughters, Kathryn “Kat” (Lauren) Milsap of CA, Karla (Steve) Dorsey of Nebraska, and Ragan Myerscough of Hawaii; step-daughter, Trois (Kelly) Walz of Springfield; grandchildren, Ian Hatfield, Geoff (Vanessa) Hatfield, Tim Soulliard, Joe and Elisa Dorsey, and India and Reed Myerscough; and great-grandchildren, Tobias Soulliard, Jack, Reagan, Landon, and Evan Hatfield; step grandchildren, Keenan Roe and Kara (Serene) Seymour; and step great-grandchild, Ainslie Seymour.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Sangamon County InterVeterans Burial Detail and the United States Army Burial Detail.
Inurnment will be at the Camp Butler National Cemetery Columbarium.
The family is being served by Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
