I am so sorry to hear of Joan's passing. Joan and I were high school classmates
and friends (as were our brothers), and she was always uplifting to be around.
It appears from the pictures that her number one priority was her family, and
that you all made her very happy. I will always remember her warm personality
and wonderful smile. My sympathies to the Bachman and Peters families.

I knew Joan through the Bridge Center and Springfield Garden Club. She was always smiling, gracious, and a delight to be around. She always brought her famous chocolate chip cookies to bridge and they were gone in a wink. My sincere condolences to her family. She will be missed.

Dear Jim, Sumith and I are very saddened to hear of the passing of Joani, who was my dear friend for 52 years. She was one of my first friends in Monroe High School when I was an AFS exchange student. That friendship has endured to the very end. Once we moved to Milwaukee, and met you and your two lovely very young daughters we were happy to spend time at your home enjoying many lovely meals and such great company. We were so sorry and missed you when you moved to Missouri. However, we stilled continued our friendship over the years. You were the love of Joani’s life and she adored your two lovely daughters and their families. Even though we were not there to see them grow up, we saw them in the Christmas cards she sent us. Please accept our love and deepest sympathy which we extend to the whole family including Pete. Joani will be in my heart always. Sumith sends his love to you as well and hope and wish you peace. Unfortunately we are unable to attend the funeral as we are out of the country. Our hearts are filled with sorrow but beautiful memories will linger always...
