Joan L. Mills, 75, of Springfield, died at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at her home. Joan was born on February 16, 1932 in Joliet, the daughter of James and Lucille James Massey. She attended Lincoln Land Community College where she obtained an Associates Degree in Nursing. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Memorial Medical Center for twenty years. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Massey. Joan is survived by two sons: James (wife, Valerie) Mills of Aurora, IL and Jeffrey (wife, Colleen) Mills of Orlando, FL; three step-grandchildren; one sister, Carol (husband Harry) Mongold of Manhattan, IL; one sister-in-law, Dodie Massey of Joliet and several nieces an nephews. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Private ceremonies were held.
