

Joanne was born on July 19, 1952 in Springfield, the daughter of William O. and Corinne A. Chaput Coombe. She married John “Butch” Reeves on June 24, 1983 in Springfield.
Joanne was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, class of 1970. She was a majorette for the band and attended the 1967 World Expo where she twirled the fire baton. She worked for the Heritage House Smorgasbord, GFS, and Bath & Body Works. Joanne was hard-working and never met a stranger. A proud hockey mom and grandma, she was involved with the Springfield Youth Hockey Association and a timekeeper for the Springfield Jr. Blues for 20 years. She enjoyed caring for her children and grandchildren, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Daniel Allen and Charlotte Rae Reeves; and infant brother, James Raymond Coombe.
She is survived by her husband, John “Butch” Reeves of Chatham; three sons, Brett Allen (Whitney) of Rochester, Marc Oliver (Kyrsten) of Chatham, and John “Bart” Reeves of Springfield; three stepchildren, Julie Reeves Belfer of Phoenix, AZ, Mike (Karen) Miller of Bend, OR, and Erica (Joe) Carrigan of Dawson; three grandchildren, William and Crosby Reeves and Judah Estill; five siblings, Sue Coombe, John (Ann) Coombe, William (Martha) Coombe, Fred (Cindy) Coombe, and Mary (Erich) Bloxdorf; two aunts; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; many other extended family members; and two beloved cats, Otis and Doris.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Butler Funeral Home—Chatham, 8855 State Rt. 4, Chatham. Visitation will begin with a prayer service. Due to COVID restrictions there will be limited capacity.
Private family burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
