

Joe was born July 26, 1945, in Chicago, the son of Julius and Angeline Dyrek Raklovits. He married Patricia Lovland on September 24, 2009, in Venice, FL.
Joe graduated from Fenger High School in Chicago in 1963 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He became the first person in his family to graduate from college when he earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Culver-Stockton. Joe worked for Sherwin Williams in various management capacities for over 30 years. He enjoyed traveling to anywhere with a beach and his favorite vacations were when the family would vacation at Ocean City, Maryland. Joe also enjoyed sports, especially attending tennis tournaments and watching baseball. He and his family were originally Chicago White Sox fans but over the years transitioned to Chicago Cub fans. Joe was smart, funny, and loved to tell a good story.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Jeff Wagner.
Joe is survived by his wife, Patricia Raklovits of Springfield; son, Joseph James “Jamie” (wife, Dana) Raklovits of Medina, OH; daughter, Dawn Wagner of Columbus, OH; step-children, Deirdre McQuillen of Springfield and Nathan (wife, Dana) McQuillen of Effingham; grandchildren, Sydney and Katie Wagner of Columbus, OH and T.J. and Megan Raklovits of Medina, OH; brother, Don (wife, Kathie) Raklovits of Kalamazoo, MI; niece, Amanda Raklovits of Champaign; and nephew, Drew (wife, Karly) Raklovits of Kalamazoo, MI.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Burial will be held at a later date in Kalamazoo, MI.
