Joe T. Robertson

Joe T. Robertson, 65, of Springfield, passed away on January 8, 2015 at his residence. He was born on August 10, 1949 in Springfield to Floyd Edgar and Betty Jane Dunn Robertson. He married Janeece Mundhenke on April 3, 1993 and she survives.

Also surviving are their children: Bree Robertson (Todd Wood), Allison (Josh) Kohlbecker and Nick Robertson; granddaughters: Kylinn Mary Wood, Lyla Hazel Kohlbecker, Hartlie Jo Kohlbecker; one brother Jack (Debbie) Robertson; one sister Judy (Terry) Sommer as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Robertson graduated from Western Military Academy in Alton, Illinois and served in the US Navy. He attended the University of Miami and it was there he became a lifelong Miami Dolphins fan. Joe owned and operated Robertson’s Home Improvement as an independent contractor for over 35 years. He enjoyed pheasant hunting in Illinois and South Dakota, he was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, and Quails Unlimited, and Joe was a lifelong Cubs fan. He enjoyed playing Santa and spending time with his family and friends, especially his granddaughters.

The family will meet friends for an open house memorial gathering Sunday January 11, 2015 at Long Bridge Golf Course, 1055 West Camp Sangamo Road, from 1:00-4:00pm with a short and informal memorial service starting at 2:00pm.
