JoEllen Roth

JoEllen "Jody" Roth, 52, of Pleasant Plains, died at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at her home. Jody was born November 2, 1957 in Springfield, the daughter of Francis "Joe" and Joann Glossop Owens. She married Thomas Richard Roth on June 9, 1979 in Springfield. Jody graduated from Springfield High School. She also attended Lincoln Land Community College and received her Bachelor's degree in Political Science at WIU. She worked for the Illinois Attorney General's office for over 20 years and most recently as a supervisor over the regional offices. She was a member of First Christian Church. She enjoyed socializing with her friends and family as well as shopping, traveling, antiques and spending time with her pets. She is survived by her husband, Thomas of Pleasant Plains; her daughter, Jessica Roth of Pleasant Plains; her parents, Joseph and Joann Owens of Springfield; a brother, Jim (wife, Kim) Owens of Springfield and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation will be held from 5:00 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G.
