John Louis Drescher, 78, of Springfield died on Monday, February 27, 2006 at Memorial Medical Center. John was born on June 6, 1927 in Spencer, IN, and was preceded in death by his parents, Morgan L. and Ruby Hickam Drescher and brother, Morgan H. Drescher. He was a former U.S. Navy Veteran and later was employed as an engineer with Honeywell Electric for over 40 years. He is survived by one sister: Joanne Caudill, of Tempe AZ and several cousins. Cremation accorded by the Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Scott Brindley officiating. Graveside Services will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Wildlife Federation, 1100 Wildlife Center Dr., Reston, VA 20190 or to the Nature Conservancy, 4245 North Fairfax Dr., Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22203.
