

John was born on October 13, 1944, in Springfield, the son of John Stanley, Jr. and Clema (Burruss) Galman. He married Lisa Ellen Morris on March 4, 1967, in DuQuoin, IL.
John graduated from Lanphier High School and DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago. He worked as an Electronic Technician for Sangamo Electric in their Calibration Lab, and then worked at Dickey-John Corporation for 38 years in the Engineering Department until his retirement in 2009. John was a member of the Lefthanders Gun Club, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering with engines, and electronics.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Stanley Galman; grandson, Gavin Caruso; sister, Marilyn Kelley; and brother, David Galman.
John is survived by his wife, Lisa Galman of Chatham; daughters, Angela (John) Blunk of Springfield; Sara (Neil) Vacek of Oldsmar, FL, and Brenda (Brad) Burnett of Springfield; grandchildren, Mitchell, Jack, Gage, Vail, and Blair; and several nephews.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Private family ceremonies were held.
The family is being served by Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield.
