John Joseph Halerewicz

John was born in Springfield, May 21, 1952, the son of Jaroslaw and Rosalia (Bachmatiuk) Halerewicz. He married Sheri Garner in Springfield, June 2, 1973, and she survives.

Also surviving are his children: Janek (Bridget) Halerewicz of Auburn, IL, Dave Halerewicz of Springfield, Kashia Halerewicz of Chatham, IL, Valerie Parks of Springfield, and Christina High of Chatham, IL. Eleven grandchildren, two brothers; Leon Halerewicz and Edward (Janice), Halerewicz both of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Eugenia Halerewicz and a brother, Henry Halerewicz.

John worked at Bridgestone-Firestone Tire Co. in Decatur for several years. He owned and operated Midwest Screen Printing. He was an accomplished Guitar player and a former member of the Miles Ahead band. He was of the catholic faith.

Arrangements are in the care of Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen St. Springfield, IL where family and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Monday, April 21, 2025, beginning at 9:30 am until the time of services at 10:30 am. Rev. Daniel J. Bergbower will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Springfield, IL.
