He was born August 21, 1911 in Chicago the son of Robert and Mary O'Rourke Mullane. He married Frieda Andris in 1948 and she preceded him in death in February 13, 1983. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Linda Prola February 15, 2003.
Mr. Mullane served in the Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He worked and retired from UPS and E & F Distributing. In the 1980's he worked for Butler School as a crossing guard. He wa s a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by two grandsons, Shannon(wife, Theresa) McAuley and Joey Prola; a granddaughter Hilary Prola and great grandson Alex McAuley.
Private graveside services will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery, Marion. Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.(www.boardman-smith.net).
