

He was born on November 27, 1921, in Springfield, Illinois, the son of J. B. Myers and Nora Hanley Myers. Jack married Virginia Fifer on October 18, 1947, in Springfield, Illinois.
Jack graduated from Lanphier High School and attended Coyne Electric School in Chicago, Illinois. He honorably served his country during World War II, enlisting in the United States Army in 1944. He dedicated 35 years of service working for Illinois Bell Telephone. Jack was a member of Little Flower Parish. He enjoyed traveling, collecting antiques, and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia; and 5 sisters.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Randy) Sanchez; grandson, Jamie Sanchez; granddaughter, Roxanne Sanchez; great grandsons, Paxton Sanchez and Elias Sanchez-Gass; sister, Rosemary Pfeiffer of Lindenhurst, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
Butler Cremation Tribute Center will provide cremation before the ceremonies.
The family will host a Memorial Mass at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Adlai Stevenson Drive, Springfield, Illinois, on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 10:00 am, with Father Kemme officiating.
The family will also host a burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery on May 15, 2026, at 2:00 pm with Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jack’s remembrance to Lincoln Memorial Gardens at www.LincolnMemorialGarden.org.
