

John T. "Jack" Reed, 72, of Tamaroa, died on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at his home. Jack was born July 7, 1942 in Springfield, the son of John H. and Corinne Rock Reed. He married Margaret Jane Clearwater on April 26, 1969; she preceded him in death on September 22, 2014. Jack was a graduate of Springfield High School and was the owner and operator of A-1 Rooter, Inc. since 1978. Prior to that he had worked in restaurant management with Burger King Corporation. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Shirley Lynn Reed; and one sister, Patricia Melvin. He is survived by one daughter, Shelley (husband, Robert) Huck of Springfield; four grandchildren, Audrey, Marianne, Gregory and Katherine Huck, all of Springfield; one great-grandchild, Kaden Oldridge; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service. Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Chris House officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in New Berlin.
