Lincolnshire Memory Care facility in Decatur, IL, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. John was
born on October 18, 1950, in Springfield, IL, son of Walter F. and Elizabeth P. Fuchs Tamblin. He married his wife, Sandy, on November 24, 1995, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Springfield, IL.
John was a 1968 graduate of New Berlin High School. He received an associate’s degree from Wabash
Valley College in Mt. Carmel, IL. John was a self-employed builder in Scottsdale, Arizona, and in
Springfield, IL.
He was a die-hard LA Dodgers fan, a faithful friend of Bill W., and loved to make people laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, James. He is survived by his wife of 29 years,
Sandy Tamblin of Springfield; stepchildren, DeAnna Clark, Tabatha Szkutnik (Sam), Adam Goone (Sarah);
seven grandchildren; sister-in-law, Juan; nephew, Brian Tamblin (Shannon); one great-niece; and one great-nephew.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Donations in John’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
