

Johnny L. Barrington, 63, of Horn Lake, MS, died at 6:42 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at DeSoto Baptist Hospital in Southaven, MS. Johnny was born June 21, 1949 in Springfield, the son of Art and Fern Gilbert Barrington. Johnny was a graduate of Springfield High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He later worked for ATC Logistics and Electronics. Johnny was a family man who enjoyed fishing, camping, being outdoors and his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and step-father, Fern and Jim Gilbert; father, Art Barrington; ex-wife, Lori Wilkins; and five siblings, Corky, Kirk, Wayne, Art and Carolyn. He is survived by six sons, Kristoffer (wife, Amanda) Barrington of Springfield, Dylan Barrington of Litchfield, John Tyler (wife, Wendy) Barrington of Colorado, Derek (wife, Becky) Barrington of Lathrop, CA, David (wife, Viet) Barrington of Hollywood, CA, and Richard (wife, Rosimar) Barrington of Pinellas Park, FL; two daughters, Brandi (husband, Jesse) Hopper of Southaven, MS and Amy Barrington of Springfield; nine grandchildren; three siblings, Kim (wife, Patricia) Barrington of Springfield, Keith Barrington, and Beverly (husband, Rick) Cernech of Deltona, FL ; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:30 a.m. on Friday April 12, 2013 at First Church of the Nazarene, 5200 South Sixth Street Road, Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:30 a.m. on Friday April 12, 2013 at First Church of the Nazarene, with Clint Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery, where military honors will be provided.
