Jonathan David Wolfe

Jon grew up in Latham, IL and graduated from Warrensburg/Latham High School.

Jon loved music and could play any instrument he picked up.

Jon loved reading and learning about history and different cultures especially his Norwegian culture.

Jon loved his friends, Nash and Amanda, Shon, Chris, and Jimmy.

Jon loved his family.

But most of all Jon loved Gemma.

Gemma was his companion through thick and thin. Everything Jon did included her and now Gemma is left with just memories along with his parents, Shannon Shaffer of Latham and Jeffrey Wolfe of Springfield; his sister, Mackenzie (Tristan) Shaffer; grandparents, Keith and Donna Anderson of Springfield; Dimebag, Dave, ‘Cready, Crystal, Leela, Cameron, and Mushy.

Jon is also survived by several aunts and uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

Jon is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Karen Turpin and cousins, Myke Turpin and Michael Sanderfield.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL. A sharing of remembrance will follow at 4:00 p.m. Casual attire is perfectly acceptable! Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks to just be kind to each other.
