Joseph John Adams

Joe was born on April 8, 1944, in Springfield, the son of Margaret Bogenschutz. He married Mary Ann (Wilkerson) Adams in 1977, in Springfield.

Joe was a Lanphier High School graduate. He worked at Midwest Microfilm Company for 23 years and then retired from the State of Illinois after 18 years of service. Joe was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed photography, computers, and woodworking.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother; brother, Grant Adams; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Boarman.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Adams; son, Jason John (wife, Heather) Adams of Peoria, IL; daughter, Christina Marie (husband, Nicholas) Rollins of Rochester, IL; five grandchildren, Hannah Frances Rollins, Jack Nicholas Rollins, Oswin Diane Adams, Arlo John Adams, and Henry Bloom Adams; siblings, Joan Boarman of Pawnee, IL, Gene (wife, JoLynn) Adams of Springfield, and Jay (wife, Holly) Adams of Sherman, IL; sister-in-law, Kay Adams of Springfield; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation & Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2019, at Butler Funeral Home—Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Manuel P. Cuizon, C.R.S., Ph.D., officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Springfield.
