Joseph H. Hogan

Jody was born June 4, 1939 in Springfield, the son of Joseph H. and Eloise C. Hill Hogan, Sr. He married Donna Baptist on June 7, 1980 in Springfield.

Jody attended Cathedral Boys High School for two years and graduated from Springfield High School. He earned his Associate's Degree from Los Angeles City College and attended San Francisco State University. He proudly served his country in the Army. Jody worked for CWLP for 30 years and most recently as supervisor of Lake Services until his retirement in 2002. He attended Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and was a member of the Postal Club and past member of the Elks Club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, loved to work in his yard and loved to travel. He was very family oriented and was a great father. He had a great love for people.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Jimmy Hogan; and niece, Kelli Hogan.

He is survived by his wife, Donna of Springfield; two daughters, Angela D. Scott and Dody (husband, Randy) Filipiak, both of Springfield; five grandchildren; brother, Robert J. (wife, Carol) Hogan of Springfield; several aunts and uncles; one niece, Kristi (husband, Eric) Hillyer; and one nephew, Kevin Hogan.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 2, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.

Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

A ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola officiating. Military honors will be provided by InterVeterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
