

Joseph was born on November 16, 1981, in Springfield, the son of Sandy MacLeod Hughes and Jerry Jennings. He married Tanya Flemming on May 13, 2006, in Auburn.
Joseph graduated from Auburn High School in 2000 and attended SIU in Carbondale. He graduated from MTI in welding. He proudly served his country in the Illinois Army National Guard. Joseph was employed as an Instrumental Electrician for CWLP. He was a member of IBEW Local 193. Joseph enjoyed bow and shotgun hunting with his father-in-law, Timothy Flemming; as well as fishing, music, coaching football and especially spending time with his boys.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and sister, Catherine Jennings.
He is survived by his wife, Tanya Jennings of Chatham; sons, Gavin and Gino Jennings; mother, Sandy (husband, Brent) Hughes of Auburn; father, Jerry (wife, Rosie) Jennings of Carlyle; siblings, Rebecca (husband, Jake) Crowley of Springfield and Thomas Jennings of Manteno, IL; and nieces and nephews, Lucille, Viola, and Elijah Crowley, Remy Ramirez, and Ethan Jennings; and step-siblings.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:45 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2019, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A memorial ceremony will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.
