Joseph "Joe" Henry Britz, Jr.

Joe was born June 22, 1964, in Springfield, IL, the son of Joseph Henry Sr. and Kathleen Marie Barker Britz. He married Staci Lael on May 18, 1996, in Springfield.

Joe attended St. John’s Lutheran School and graduated from New Berlin High School. He was employed by Ruby Electric and became the owner and operator of J. Britz Electrical Contractors where he became a master electrician. Joe loved to hunt, watch races, be with friends and family, and was an avid Oakland Raiders fan. He loved to race moto cross and his Hornet race cars at Sheps Speedway.

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Debi Lael and his dog, Raider.

Joe is survived by his wife, Staci Britz of New Berlin; son, Eric (Brytanny) Britz of Thayer; grandchildren, Elayna and Aurora Britz; parents, Joseph and Kathleen Britz; father-in-law, Gary (partner, Nancy Miller) Lael; sister-in-law, Heather (Cress) Sisson; and his nephews and niece, Tim, Will, Deb, and Avery.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Butler Funeral Home-New Berlin, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin.

Funeral Ceremony: 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Butler Funeral Home-New Berlin with Fiore Belmonte officiating.

Burial will follow at Woodwreath Cemetery.
