Joseph A. Lynch, 79, a lifelong resident of Springfield, passed away at 4:57 p.m. Monday, August 27, 2001 at Regency Nursing Care Residence. Joseph was born January 14, 1922 the son of John Thomas and Mattie Jane Lamb Lynch. Joe, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin worked as a CPA for the IRS. He was a member of the National Accounting Fraternity, Beta Alpha Psi, and Alumnus of Sigma. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by one sister: Mary Abigail Benzer of Springfield; two cousins: Mary Jane (husband, Harry) Emrich of Winter Springs, FL, and Betty (husband, Frank) Slivka of Edwardsville, IL. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2001. Funeral Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2001 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with John Matheis officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family of Joseph A.
