

He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Q. Meneghetti and Mary Meneghetti Riddle.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Meneghetti; two daughters, RuthAnne (husband, Chuck) Wyzard and Candace (husband, Danny) Urban; three sisters, Marie Meneghetti Bormida, Carol (husband, Bob) Jessup, and Nora O’Hara; a brother, Jerry (wife, Kelly) Meneghetti; three grandchildren, Brandi (husband, Ross) Winning, Natalie Miller, and Brendan Urban; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joe was a proud graduate of St. James Trade School and an Army 101st Airborne Vietnam Veteran, serving from 6/16/66 to 6/15/72. He was a recipient of multiple medals for his service in Vietnam, including three Bronze Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal. After his service in the military, Joe worked for multiple railroad companies and later retired from Rays Countertops in Glenarm. He was a life member of the VFW Post 10302, a member of the American Legion Post 32, and KC Hall Council 4175. Joe’s hobbies were many, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, the Chicago Cubs, all types of racing, loved animals, hunting, fishing, and occasionally hitting the casino.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL.
Graveside Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Department of Defense.
For those in attendance, the family suggests casual attire of Chicago Cubs clothing or anything in Cubbie blue.
