

Josephine Celeste Panepinto, of Springfield, formerly of Belleville, passed away at 8:46 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2001 at Memorial Medical Center. Josephine was born the daughter of Philip and Carmela DiGioia Cimo in Waco, Texas. She married Dr. John Joseph Panepinto April 14, 1937 in Waco, TX; he preceded her in death September 14, 1979. Josephine was a homemaker, a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, and a member of St. Clair County Medical Alliance. She was a former member of the Missouri Athletic Club and Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She attended Baylor University in Waco, TX and she was an accomplished pianist. She was preceded in death by her husband: Dr. John Joseph Panepinto; parents; one brother: Joseph Cimo; one sister: Mary Cimo and her uncle and aunt: Marion and Celestina Losavio. She is survived by one sister: Sr. Marion Celeste – Sister of St. Mary; one son: Dr. Marion (wife, Beebe) Panepinto of Springfield; one daughter: Mary C. (husband, William) Greenwell of Lexington, KY; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and one nephew: Dr. Philip Cimo of Houston, TX. Friends may call at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 5923 N. Belt West, Belleville, IL from 10-11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2001. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2001 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Monsignor Jerome Hartlein celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt.
