Josephine Katherine Roscetti

Josephine Katherine Roscetti, 84, lifelong resident of Springfield, died at 4:14 p.m., Monday, November 27, 2000 at St. John's Hospital. She was born May 13, 1916 in Springfield, the daughter of Frank and Catherine Frontani Benvenuti. She later married Ettore Art Roscetti at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in 1938. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1988. She was a member of St. Cabrini Church, St. Cabrini Altar and Rosary Society, Roman Culture Society Auxilary, St. Anthony Guild,and AARP. She worked for the secretary of state as a clerk for many years. She enjoyed gardening and her family and friends. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one sister: Mary Benvenuti. She is survived by two sons: Bernard F. (wife-Diane) Roscetti of Veazie, Maine, and Thomas L. (wife-Marge) Roscetti of Humble, TX; two daughters: Catherine A. Smith of Springfield, and Mary Jo (husband-William) Drake of Edwardsville, IL; seven grandchildren: Christine Hession, Tricia Roscetti, Ensign Christopher Roscetti, Jennifer Roscetti, Geordie Matthew Smith, Daniel Drake, and Andrew Drake; and two great grandchildren: Caitlin Margaret Hession and David Michael Hession. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2000, where a wake service will be held at 4 p.m. Concelebrated funeral mass will be at St. Cabrini Church on Friday, December 1, 2000 at 9 a.m. with the Rev. John L. Corredato CSV principal celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Cabrini Church 1020 N. Milton Springfield, IL 62702.
