Joy (Williams) Jones, daughter of Stella Susan Emma Harper and John Guess Williams passed peacefully from this life to eternity with Christ on January 6, 2019. Joy was the wife of the late Robert “Bob” Eugene Jones for 64 years, mother of Mari Lyn (Patrick) Budde, Mamaw to David and Emily Budde, and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, six brothers, and her step-mom.

Joy grew up on a beautiful farm in the country outside of Meridian, Mississippi. She worked for her cousin, a physician, for several years. After marrying Bob in 1952, they moved to Bloomington, Illinois where she was employed in numerous capacities by Illinois Wesleyan University, State Farm Insurance Co. and ICG Railroad. But for the majority of her life, she was a homemaker. Bob’s career with the Railroad took them to Carbondale, Champaign, and Springfield, Illinois where they finally retired.

Even though we never met, Joy's love could be seen through her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. The stories and memories shared by her loved ones allow the image and love of Joy to live on in the hearts of family and friends. We know we will all meet again one day with our Savior, but until that day comes Joy will be cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.

Mary Lynn & family

It is with sadness that we lose an amazing & loving aunt. She was such an inspiration to me. She was always so happy to visit with us & when I would call she was so excited to talk. She was so eager to share everything that David & Emily were doing. I will be praying for you on Friday. Aunt Joy & Uncle Bobby will always remain a very important part of my life. God bless you.
