Judith E. "Judy" Bregowy

She was born in Springfield on March 9, 1936, the daughter of John Joseph and Evelyn Elaine (LeMasters) Meizelis. She married Dale Boyce, and he preceded her in death. She later married Walter Bregowy, and he also preceded her in death.

Judy graduated from St. Aloysius with the class of 1954 and went on to work for Illinois Secretary of State. She was very talented at knitting, crocheting, and sewing. Judy was involved in Polish Club, Polka Club, and Lithuanian Club. She enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and was a die-hard fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughters, Sharon and Deborah Boyce.

Judy is survived by her daughters, Carol Berkey of New Lenox, Janet Lalas of Worth, and Rebecca Boyce of Henderson, NV; grandchildren, Theresa (David Smith) Berkey of New Lenox, David Berkey of Mokena, Kristina (Austin) McKinney of Palos Hills, Michael and Matt Lalas, both of Palos Hills, Nicole and Tiffany Davis, both of Henderson, NV, and St. Clair Davis, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A prayer service will begin at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. George Nellikunnel.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2000 E. Sangamon Ave., Springfield, with Rev. George Nellikunnel, celebrant.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
