She was born in Springfield on October 14, 1948 to Robert and Marie Raisch. She married Thomas R. Bright on September 2, 1995. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Zandra Raisch.
Judith was a Registered Nurse. She graduated from St. John’s School of Nursing and received a BS in Nursing and Chemistry from SIU in Edwardsville. She worked at local hospitals, was a pharmaceutical representative for Syntex Labs and Mead-Johnson and started her own firm “Nurse Consultants for Industry” in 1995. She was a member of Douglas Avenue United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, a son Brian Sommer (wife, Amy) and two grandsons, Curtis and Douglas. Services will be conducted in the Oak Ridge Memorial Chapel at 1:00 PM Friday January 21, 2011 with the Rev. Julia Melgreen officiating. Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
